Republic Mortgage Home Loans was established in June, 1983 when the first location for the new business was opened in St. George, Utah. In late 1990 a group of Utah businessmen purchased Republic Mortgage and moved the corporate headquarters to Salt Lake City, Utah.
In July, 1994 Republic Mortgage Home Loans merged with Richards-Woodbury Mortgage Corp., another independently owned Utah company. With this merger Republic Mortgage Home Loans had retail branch offices throughout the state of Utah.
Another ownership change took place in January, 1996, when Republic Mortgage Home Loans was acquired by Old Kent Mortgage Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Old Kent Financial Corporation. Shortly thereafter, wholesale and construction offices were added to the Utah operations.
In April, 2001, Old Kent Financial Corporation was acquired by Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ-FITB).
Local ownership was restored in August, 2001 when Republic Mortgage Home Loans, LLC purchased the Utah operations of Republic Mortgage from Fifth Third Bancorp.
With this acquisition, our commitment, strength and reputation continue.
We offer retail and wholesale lending departments and we are approved to originate loans for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. In addition, we offer these types of loans:
